Congratulations to Christabel Gulson on becoming the first lady member to win a monthly medal with a gross score of 83, (net 61), playing off a handicap of 22. Christabel also qualifies along with 15 others for the Henderson Quaich knockout competition, which will be played in matchplay format over the next year.

In line with a vote at the AGM, free drops on paths crossing certain holes will be allowed from 1 June. See the notice board or ask Steve Barr for details.

The entry sheet for the new season’s matchplay knockout competitions is now up on the board just inside the changing rooms, so please sign up. Note that this year the Diamond, Wright Cup and Henderson Quaich will be played off full handicap difference. This is due to a mandatory ruling by Congu.

Our run in the Mail on Sunday national knockout competition came to a painful end on 16 April with a 3-2 defeat to Wimbledon Park on our home turf in the third round. But we did at least get down to the last 750.

Welcome to recent new full members Sarah Jacobs Wormald  and Bruce Wormald – and to new five day members Thomas Willis and Jim Burke.

Nick Sharp and Peter Mason have progressed to the second round of the Daily Mail national foursomes competition by beating West Middlesex 3 & 1 on the common. They now have an away draw at Betchworth Park.
